I don’t know about you, but bright colours are typically saved for my toes, and my fingers get the nude or dark polishes. When I saw that Sephora and Pantone had teamed up and gone on a marketing frenzy about tangerine, I thought, Dang I’m good. I bought a juicy ‘Tequila Sunrise’ polish from Rimmel a couple of years back. I’m not good at keeping up with trends (more of a classic tried-tested-and-true kinda gal), so this time, I get to feel like I was ahead of the game ;) Very rarely happens…
As I’m patting myself on the back for being so ‘fashion forward’, I’m wondering if I can handle all this juicy brightness on my hands instead of just my toes. Then it dawned upon me: Who says I need to paint my full nail orange? And thus today’s Tangerine + Nude diagonal mani was born. In all honesty, it’s probably just as bright as if I had painted my nails fully, but hey, it helps psychologically, plus it’s a little funky. This is what I did:
1. Cut out strips of tape (approx. 0.5 cm or 1/4 inch wide).
2. Taped them slanted on each fingernail, except my ring finger (decided it can be an ‘accent’ nail).
3. Painted one nail with my juicy tangerine shade, and then immediately peeled off the tape. Repeated with each nail.
4. Let it dry. Finished off with a clear topcoat.
