I skipped out my on March Beauty Favourites because I had so many things I was trying from my Fresh Faced haul, I didn’t have a set routine. This month Spring is finally showing her pretty face – kinda. It still snowed like mad, but at least it’s warming up and we had our first spring shower about a week ago – woohoo for green grass! The brunt of winter is gone (hopefully, you can’t be too sure with the winter we had this year), so I don’t feel inclined to slather Glysomed all over myself after a shower. Over the last little while, I’ve been using Sweet Almond oil as a body moisturizer and it’s been great. I used to use Jojoba oil but I thought I’d switch it up. I’ve loved using oils for the last 4 years, and I wonder why I didn’t discover it sooner. It’s inexpensive, hardly has a scent, goes on smoothly, and does NOT leave you looking like a disco ball. Believe me if you have never tried oils, they really do absorb quick and leaves your skin looking alive (as opposed to drab and parched). I find that they perform better than most body lotions.
I bought Badger’s Sleep Balm in March. It smells wonderful and my husband even likes it. I apply some under my nose, behind my ears and on my wrists before I go to bed. It’s not made to make you sleepy; it’s relaxing and gives you a nice smelling journey to dream land.
I’m still using up my Missha Perfect Cover BB cream. The same tube now for over 2 years. Technically I should have tossed it, but I only use it on myself and the way it’s packaged keeps it relatively air tight and sanitary. Eventually I couldn’t pump anything out of the tube so I cut it up and found loads of product still inside, unable to be extracted by the pump. Thankfully I’m a bit of a packrat and I scooped the rest into an empty and sanitized Algenist deluxe sample bottle. I have a bit of an issue saving bottles, containers and boxes, but see? It comes in handy once in a blue moon!
I’m really happy with my Dr. Alkaitis organic eye cream purchase and will write a full review on that soon. I use Yuli’s ME Skin fuel as a moisturizer during the day, and her Cell Perfecto PM at night. More on those to come in the future.
I bought a few things this month that I’m excited to try, such as the OCC Lip tar trio in Neutral from Sephora’s 15% off sale at the beginning of the month, and a Geranium & Thistle Rebalancing cream from Pai. I had to replace my eyelash curler and treated myself to a Shu Uemura. It curls your lashes faster than you can snap your fingers. It is that efficient and painless.
What have you been loving this month?
